You don’t mention what type of scanner you have, but many have transparency (slide) film adapters. Some also have a method of converting the slide in the software. First check out what your scanners software offers, and if you can do it, scan away. That your scanner takes 35mm negs suggests to me you should check the software carefully. Check the company’s web site for info.

Epson makes affordable scanners with 35 mm transparency adapters, so if all else fails …..

Your scanner should do slides too, I’d be very surprised if it can’t do positive images, you might need to take the film out of the frame to get then into the scanner, check the software that came with it.

If it can’t there are plenty of cheap second hand scanners, both dedicated film scanners and flatbed scanners with slide/film capability built in on eBay (buyer beware). If they don’t come with software check the extensive scanner list on the VueScan software site here , and get one on the list. It’s the best software to use anyway.

The other method is to mount the slide onto a light box (or window) and photograph them with a macro lens, if you have such a thing, much quicker than scanning, but maybe not quite as good a quality.
